Yellow cab smirks

by Stephanie Alfaia

The skyline breathes

cold, steel, iron air
And I ravel instead in its lights.
Unmoved by winds,
Yet it sways
For Burnham’s science
Proved right.
Indeed it stands
Funny, stoic and strong
Yet under faery dust
It becomes quick sand –
Smoldering affection
Won.
