The Rainbow

by Stephanie Alfaia
walking on water
miraculously
pots of gold for shoes
leprechaun turned sailor
treasure somewhat taboo
lured by a siren
singing the universe tune
the sailor alluded
swims deep into blue
song notes waving
high tide then low
the sailor sees rainbow
the siren’s eyes glow
come!
screams the colors
follow the glow
leprechaun no more
only sailor in a row
purple for freedom in
indigo ocean
blue endless skies
green mountains afar
yellow shells her tiara
orange siren skin glow
red on her lips
as she sings “swim close”
blind sailor swims
rainbow far goes
colored illusion
blinded he goes…
