Home Poetry For whom the bell tolls

For whom the bell tolls

by Stephanie Alfaia

They cannot meet your beauty

They do not have your flaws
The glimmer in your eyes
The smile – I’m in awe.
Words I wish you didn’t say,
Feelings, if only I could convey.
In truth, I pray you regret
Choosing her – soon you’ll fret.
Look into her eyes,
It’s not me you see.
You’ll ponder and wonder,
Soon,
you’ll wish you were
free.
