East Coast Girl

by Stephanie Alfaia

She keeps my glass half full
With tequila and lime juice
She gives me all that gets me through
I’m leaning, leaning
I feel alive when I’m waking up
On the East Coast

Baby won’t you come my way
I have a thing or two I want to say
Fill your head with stars
Put a butterfly or two in your heart
As we drive around in my car

You kill me,
You kill me my dear
I don’t mean to fill your ear
With nonsense
My darling,
Darling every second is a bad time
To leave you
There’s no reason to keep on
Pretending there isn’t an ending
To our summer lovin’
You’ve got me beggin’

Baby won’t you come my way
I have a thing or two I want to say
Fill your head with stars
Put a butterfly or two in your heart
As we drive around in my car

And I’ll miss you when the sunsets
In my West Coast paradise
I can already see my loneliness
But there’s no reason to keep
Falling,
Trippin’ head first into your arms
Let me keep pretending
That I’m not beggin’
Beggin’

Baby won’t you come my way
I have a thing or two I want to say
Fill your head with stars
Put a butterfly or two in your heart
As we drive around in my car
