Disco

by Stephanie Alfaia
You think you can cloud my eyes,
Blur my mind into desire,
And diminish my soul
Into shattered glass,
But you will not.
Cocaine darling,
I own you.
I take you in
I’ll let you twirl
In my veins
Until you stop.
Until the music fades
Until the lights no longer strobe
Until the disco slows
Until all I see is…
All I think of,
All I want is
Still…
him.
If only his arms
Were wrapped
Tightly around
My waist.
Oh god, if only
He lost himself
In this music
Beside me.
Two souls
Finding each other
With every
Passing beat.
I feel him
Inside me
And there’s
A layer I’d
Love to love
To explore.
